The Dutch Famine Birth Cohort study investigates the health of men and women born in the Wilhelmina Gasthuis in Amsterdam in the period between November 1943 and February 1947. This study is litterally unique in the world. The study is carried out by the departments of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Gynecology & Obstetrics en Internal Medicine of the Academic Medical Centre (AMC) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in collaboration with the MRC Environmental Epidemiology Unit of the University of Southampton, UK.
